Mrs. Taylor
With a bag of M&M's, you are going to experiment with exponential decay.
1. Count the number of M&M's
2. Place all your M&M's in a cup & shake them up.
3. Dump them into a box.
4. Count the number of M&M's that have the m's face up
5. Pull them out.
6. Repeat from step 2.
Keep track of the trial number & the residual values. After you've completely run out of M&M's, plot the data onto a coordinate grid & create a line graph using a spreadsheet program. Write an equation in exponential form. Show all work & give your equation. Decide which value (residual or trial number) is the independent and dependent variable. Compare your residual value graph with at least three other people. Write the equation with the least spread of residual values.
